Dear Ibn'ers,
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here: the very first activity of the Association’s newest Fellowship, the Paul Zeer Fellowship!
On the 7th of January, the Paul Zeer Fellowship will host an official Ibn Battuta Barklún Tournament. The iconic bar at Bernlef will turn into the stage for competition and plenty of beer. Participants will climb onto the bar to test their balance and nerves, and try to win their very own miniature Paul Zeer trophy. For just €20, you can enter this competition and enjoy lots of included beer and other drinks. Walk-in begins at 19:30, and the event will start at 20:00. Spots are limited, so make sure to sign up quickly!
The Paul Zeer Fellowship was born from board tradition, friendship, and a love for good drinks. Its roots go back to the 46th and 47th Boards, when Paul Zeer became a familiar face at Ibn Battuta gatherings. His legendary ritual of drinking exactly ten beers inspired the Paul Zeer Trophy, the ultimate prize in the Board Rankings.
The Fellowship consists of Former Board Members who have won this trophy, and aims to keep the spirit of board life alive across generations. That’s why this activity is especially interesting if you want to learn more about joining the Board at our Association. Former Board Members from different years and functions will be present and are more than happy to answer your questions, while enjoying a drink and the competition.
We hope to see you there!
Cheers to ten beers,
The Paul Zeer Fellowship
