Myrthe Renes - Candidate Chairman

Hi everyone! My name is Myrthe Renes and I am very honoured to be the Candidate Chairman of the 63rd Board of the Faculty Association Ibn Battuta. In 2022, I moved all the way from Den Helder to Groningen to study here. I am 20 years old and I am currently in my second year of the study Spatial Planning and Design. I immediately joined Ibn Battuta when I started my study here. First, I joined the Excursion Committee and at the end of my first year I became part of the Foreign Excursion Committee. During this time I have met lovely people and have been to many activities and excursions. Next to my study I enjoy spending time with my friends and family back in Den Helder. In summer I like spending my time hiking and camping in the mountains. Also, I spend a lot of my time on campus in the Coffee Room, so I hope to see you all there next year! I look forward to see all of you, whether it's in the Coffee Room, during our activities, or on our excursions. I hope I can show you how amazing Ibn Battuta is!

David Janssen - Candidate Vice Chairman

Hi everyone! My name is David Janssen, and I am honoured to be the Candidate Vice Chairman of the 63rd Candidate Board of Ibn Battuta! I am 20 years old and I am currently in my third year of the bachelor Spatial Planning and Design. I have lived in Groningen for my whole life, so I am glad to have started my studies here a few years ago. In my free time, I like to hang out with my friends, spend some time in and around the Coffee Room, and I like to go to my parents (mostly so I can see my dog). Besides that, I have been in several committees of our association, including the FYC, the Wintercom, the A’Cie and now the Ex’Cie. This has already been an amazing experience for me, and that made me thrilled to apply for the Board of Ibn Battuta. I am so excited for the coming period and I hope to see many of you at the activities or around the Coffee Room!

Sanne Arnold - Candidate Secretary

Hello everyone! My name is Sanne Nouria Arnold and I am excited to be the Candidate Secretary of the 63rd Candidate Board of the Faculty Association Ibn Battuta! I’m 22 years old and was born in Leeuwarden. Before settling down in Groningen I moved around a bit. From sailing the Caribbean Sea, experiencing the backpackers life in Indonesia to switching between Leeuwarden and Groningen. I’m glad to say that I really found my spot here in Groningen. Currently, I’m almost finished with the bachelor Human Geography and Planning. Within Ibn Battuta, I’m part of the BEC and Projectgroup Bakkeveen. In my free time I like to hang out with my friends, discover new music and do different kinds of sports. I look forward to this new chapter, together with my Candidate Board, and meeting all of you!

Tristan Pel - Candidate Treasurer

Dear members, my name is Tristan Pel, and I am the Candidate Treasurer of the 63rd Candidate Board of the Faculty Association Ibn Battuta. I am originally from the charming city of Leeuwarden, and currently in my second year of Spatial Planning and Design. Over the past two years, I have been active at our association, first in the FYC and currently in the Le'Cie, which I enjoyed a lot and made me excited to apply for the board. Next to this I play futsal at G.S.F.V. Drs. Vijfje, but sadly my abilities are nothing to write home about. One of my favourite places to be is the Coffee Room (especially in one particular spot) and I soon hope to meet many of you there. I am incredibly excited for the upcoming period, working together with my fellow Candidate Board Members, and seeing you at the activities!
