My name is Hesther van Rossem, I am 22 years old and in my second year of Spatial Planning and Design. I’m originally from Alphen aan den Rijn, but I have been living in the most beautiful student city Groningen for almost three years. Some of you will probably recognize me from the FYC and the Wintercom, but others might know me from the social drinks in ‘t gat, other activities, or the trips abroad. I have enjoyed all of them!
Besides Ibn Battuta and studying, I love playing field hockey, spending time in the mountains to ski or snowboard and I love organizing dinners for friends and family.
Since Introduction Day, the Association has felt like a warm, welcoming family. Therefore, I am excited and feel honored to fulfill the function of Chairman of the 60th Candidate Board of Ibn Battuta. I am always in for a good conversation and I would love to hear your input!
This year, I’ll be part of the Lecture Committee, Projectgroup Schier and I will contribute to organizing the Galant Gala. I am very much looking forward to seeing all of you again!
Hi y’all! My name is Tabea Rademacher, I am 22 years old (or young as I like to call it) and am studying Society, Sustainability and Planning. I am originally from a town close to Hamburg, Germany, but have been around Groningen since 2017. In these four years, I have learned to love the Netherlands through my friends and especially through Ibn Battuta and I am happy to call Groningen one of my homes.
After joining the First Year Committee, the Excursion Committee, and the Lustrum Committee, I was ready to take on the challenge to become part of the 60th Candidate Board. Therefore, I am honored to take on the function of Vice Chairman. Next to taking on this fabulous task in the upcoming months, I am always there for a good conversation or a cocktail, preferably outside in the sun. Next to this, you will always find me dancing to ABBA whenever I get the chance to.
In the upcoming year, I will take place in the Almanac Committee, the Master Network, and the Lustrum Committee. Furthermore, I will be organizing the National Geography and Planning Symposium.
I hope to see you around very soon!
Heey beloved reader! My name is Fleur Bogema, I am 21 years young, and I am a third-year Human Geography & Planning student. I grew up in a small town north of Groningen, Uithuizermeeden, but went to high school in Groningen, and after that, I never left. I joined Ibn Battuta three years ago and from day one I knew this Association was my home. I love the excursions, the travels, and the social drinks. But most importantly, I love the members that make our Association feel like a huge friend group!
I like to occasionally play some games with my roommates, have a drink with friends or walk around in the sun. I listen to music every day and love to dance like nobody's watching!
I am honored to be the Secretary of the 60th Candidate Board of Ibn Battuta. Next to this, I will take place in the Foreign Excursion Committee, EGEA, and the Projectgroup Introduction Period. I am looking forward to seeing you around in the upcoming year!
Hi everyone! My name is Jules Eefting, I’m 20 years old and I study Spatial Planning & Design. I am from Leeuwarden, but when I started studying in Groningen 1.5 years ago, I immediately moved to Groningen. Through Ibn Battuta, I have met many great people and been on a lot of awesome activities. I have felt welcome at Ibn Battuta from the start. I became active after half a year and joined the Sports & Games committee, after that, I joined the Excursion committee, which I enjoyed a lot and now I am very happy to be able to call myself the Treasurer of the 60th candidate board of Ibn Battuta. Besides Ibn Battuta, I enjoy playing guitar and piano, playing volleyball at Donitas, and the occasional game of football. I look forward to a great year with many great activities and meeting new people!
In the coming year, I will take place in the Sports & Games Committee, the Excursion Committee and organize the National Geography and Planning Symposium.
I look forward to seeing you all again or for the first time!
Hi everybody! My name is Bart Folgerts, a third-year Spatial Planning & Design student. After joining the Sports & Games Committee, the Wintercom, and Pro Geo, I was very excited to take on a new challenge. Therefore, I am really glad to be the 60th candidate Commissioner Internal Relations of the Faculty Association Ibn Battuta. I am now 19 years old and I am originally from a small village north-west of Groningen, called Ezinge. Even before I moved to Groningen I joined as many activities as I could, and became famous for being the youngest member of the Association at that time. Nevertheless, I met amazing people who I am still regularly in contact with, and make this Association what it is. I will take part in the First Year Committee, the Zwemfest Committee, and the Projectgroup Introduction Period. I think these will perfectly match my interests, as I have a great love for sports, music, and hanging out with friends and family. I cannot wait to organize activities for next year, because I have always enjoyed seeing my fellow Ibn’ers at the activities and I’m sure this will be the case again soon!
