On the 9th of March, the Relax'cie will take you on a tour through the Bijlmer. In the 70's a futuristic borough, the Bijlmermeer, emerged in the south-east of Amsterdam, inspired by the functional city concept of Le Corbusier. The principles of the design were back then modern, focusing on a strict division between where people lived, worked and relaxed. Faults in the spatial design & extreme cases of poverty in the borough caused immense crime rates and so ruined the image of the Bijlmer, causing it to be called the ghetto of Amsterdam. This excursion will be free of charge! Sign up here!
