On April 11-12, the first ever In-Housetour will take place! This new event will take you on a trip to the Randstad, where you will have the chance to take a look at different companies, projects, etc. that might be interesting for your future career!

The first destination for Day 1 is KUIPER COMPAGNONS, an international company that focuses, among other things, on spatial- & urban planning, architecture, and environment. Their mission is “to come up with concrete solutions to the challenges that our society is facing in terms of housing, working and living together, in order to contribute to the long-term enjoyment and happiness of people". In their beautiful office in the old Van Nelle factory in Rotterdam, we will hear all about their projects!

The second destination for Day 1 is GEMEENTE ROTTERDAM. As a city that faces new challenges every day, Rotterdam needs a modern government that can adapt to the city’s demands and needs. Gemeente Rotterdam strives to be just that. During the In-Housetour, you get the chance to see how they do so, with regards to the spatial planning of the city!

At the end of Day 1, we will have an Alumni Diner with 8 Alumni of our Faculty! Together, we will enjoy a 3 course meal while discussing their experiences in the working field. 

The destination for Day 2 is VINU, a company in Leiden that specializes is Project- and Areamanagement. We will follow a very interesting workshop in the heart of Leiden: 

"In the workshop at VINU you will learn from two experienced projectmanagers, about how to deal with the surrounding area of a spatial project. By stepping in the shoes of stakeholders you will experience how negotiations work. We will give you tools to use in your later working life as a (assistant-) projectmanager or areamanager. After this workshop you will know the basics of areamanagement. You will partake in a stakeholderanalysis, and you will have practical tools to use your area effectively in your future project. The area goes outside the box. And you will too!"

After this workshop we will have the opportunity to discuss the workshop and the work of VINU over a nice drink!

 

We will travel to the Randstad with vans, and sleep in Rotterdam from Thursday to Friday night. The costs will be around €50. If you have any questions about the event, you can always contact the board via board@ibnbattuta.nl
